The title of this comic, as I'm sure you've guessed, is a reference to "It Has to Be This Way" specifically "Violence breeds violence / But in the end / It has to be this way."

The one decision I made at the start of this comic that came back to bite me the hardest, even moreso than putting Spamton in the dinosaur pajamas, was drawing Ralsei with five digits on his hands. In the panels where his index finger is hidden behind the rest of his hand and only three fingers are showing, I found it was SO MUCH easier to draw paw-hands that only have three fingers and a thumb.

Also, is the thumb considered a finger? As a kid I was taught the thumb isn't a finger because it only has two segments instead of three, so kids on the playground would troll each other by asking "how many fingers do you have" and when somebody answered "five" they'd say "lawl, stupid, you only have four fingers, because the thumb isn't a finger." But as a kid I was also taught pandas were raccoons and not bears and now they're classified as bears.

And yes, the kitten's doing fine.
